I found Moore Subaru of Richmond via the USAA car buying program. I got into contact with the Internet sales director Robert Thomas who was absolutely wonderful to work with. I got so sick and tired of dealing with local car dealerships who had nothing to offer except empty promises and an all around waste of my time. I am like most people and stay tied up with work 6 days a week, in addition to being a college student. We were able to work out about 99% of our deal via email, including my trade. Robert told me "Brian, I'm not here to waste your time, that's not how we do business." He assured me that as long as my trade was in the condition I said it was; he'd give me what I wanted for my trade. This is too good to be true, right? Wrong! I made the two hour drive to Richmond where I was able to touch base with Tom Carr who is obviously completely passionate and knowledgeable about the vehicles he sells.
Robert made sure the deal went through as planned, and the entire staff; down to the finance manager was unlike anything I have ever seen. You know at the end of a car deal when dealerships try to sell you everything under the sun? Not the case at Moore Subaru. The new female finance manager was there when Tom was talking about the extended warranty and a few other things. When we got to her office she never mentioned them again, and I was a little curious as to why. She said I didn't seem interested and saw no need to hassle me about things I clearly had no interest in. From the time I arrived at the dealership; our deal was done in about 45 minutes. I was there about two hours...and the majority of that was me swapping all of my personal belongings from one vehicle to the other.
I can say without a doubt that as long as I stay in a vehicle manufacturer that I can buy from the Moore family-there is no way I would ever go anywhere else. Kudos to a job well done, and I can't thank their awesome staff enough.
I have not bought a car in 35 years. I was not looking forward to the experience, expecting pressure and confusion. A dear friend told me to check out the Subaru Legacy. I walked into the Subaru Richmond dealership with trepidation. I was met by salesman Tom Carr, with a handshake and a smile and a calm "what can I do for you today?"
Over the next several weeks, Tom worked with me to find me the perfect car. Tom was never pushy or over-powering. He calmly answered every question I had, guided me with consideration for my needs, and patiently waited for me to make my decisions in my own timeframe. I absolutely love my new car, a 2012 Subaru Legacy Limited!!! And I would recommend Tom Carr to anyone looking to have a pleasant car purchase experience.
We had a great experience with Subaru of Richmond. Robert Thomas, the internet sales manager, worked hard to get us the exact 2012 Legacy 2.5i Premium--in a hard to find color--that we wanted, from another Subaru dealer. All at a fair price for a great car! Full disclosure?this is our first Subaru, after 30 years as loyal Honda owners.
Tom Carr picked up the ball to complete the deal and ensured that we were kept up to date regarding the car's arrival in Richmond. Tom also worked with us on delivery day, providing just the right amount of detail without creating information overload! Tom was also very helpful and great to deal with. All in all it was probably the best car-buying experience we have ever had.
